Welcome to the scheme information page on the EC School Milk subsidy scheme.
The aim of the scheme is to encourage children to consume milk and milk products and develop a lasting habit of doing so.
Aid is paid on milk and yoghurt supplied to school children at reduced prices. Since 2001 the scheme has been jointly funded by the EC and the UK. The RPA pays the full cost of milk for Key Stage 1 pupils in Wales on behalf of the National Assembly. There is some overlap with the Department of Health’s Nursery Milk Scheme.
There are currently around 150 Claimants, the majority of which are local authorities, registered with RPA.
