EC Marketing Standards for Fresh Horticultural Produce

EC Regulation 1580/2007 (as amended, in particular by EC Regulation 1221/2008) sets two types of standard: the Specific Marketing Standard and the General Marketing Standard. The products regulated by the Specific Marketing Standard are:

  • Apples Table Grapes Kiwifruit Citrus (including clementines satsumas oranges lemons and mandarins) Peaches and Nectarines Pears Strawberries Lettuce (including curled and broad leaved endives) Sweet Peppers and Tomatoes. However a number of significant products are excluded from the EC Marketing Standards. These include:
