The purpose of the scheme is to encouage Producer Organisations (POs) to deliver certain citrus fruits, harvested in the Community, for processing. Eligible fruits are: lemons, sweet oranges, manderins, clementines, satsumas, grapefruit and pomelos.

A contract to supply fruit is required between the PO and the processor. The Agency's role is to carry out inspections to ensure that the regulations governing the scheme are adhered to, aid being paid to the producer organisation in the appropriate Member State.

The marketing year for this scheme is 1 October - 30 September. The deadline for concluding contracts is 1 November.
