The Fish Carry Over Aid scheme is available to officially recognised Producer Organisations (POs).
'Community Withdrawal Prices' for eligible species are set annually by the Commission. To participate in the scheme, POs must adopt and apply Community Withdrawal Prices throughout the year.
If a member of a PO puts fish up for sale for human consumption but cannot find a buyer at or above the pre-set withdrawal price the fish must be temporarily withdrawn from the human consumption market, processed by an approved method, stored in certain conditions for a minimum period and returned to the human consumption market. The PO may then submit a claim for Aid.
