The purpose of this scheme is to encourage the use of grape musts and concentrated grape musts, produced within the Community, for the purpose of manufacturing grape juice or other comestible products.
Grape juice can be used in grape juice drinks, blended with other fruit juices, non-alcoholic drinks and concentrated non-alcoholic drinks in the form of syrup and products to serve as a base for non-alcoholic drinks. Grape juice may also be used in the manufacture of jams, preserves, vinegar and sports bars etc.
The Agency's role is to carry out inspections to ensure that the regulations governing the scheme are adhered to, aid being paid to the producer organisation in the appropriate Member State.
